Visit Us For Family Dentistry & More This Holiday Season
You care about your family and want the very best for them. You do a million and one little things every day and on top of that, you have picked out some truly heartfelt gifts for the holidays. Big gestures like that can obviously demonstrate a lot. But as you know, the seemingly small acts of love and kindness mean just as much if not more.
Try to think about teaching your loved ones good oral hygiene habits in a similar way – by reinforcing these good health practices, you’ll do your part to help your family members maintain and improve the health and beauty of their smiles! By spending a few minutes each day cleaning your mouths, you, your partner, and your children will do your part for your smiles.
And besides, your children will eventually grow out of that new toy that you got them. Help them establish a positive association with oral health now and they’ll have a strong, gorgeous set of chompers for many years to come!
As you may already know, you should do the following things each and every day to establish a great routine for oral hygiene:
- Brush your teeth for about two minutes at least twice a day using a soft-bristled toothbrush and ADA-approved toothpaste
- Floss between all of your teeth once daily at a minimum
- Use an ADA-recommended mouthwash or rinse if recommended or desired
If you’d like, we can provide various tips to help you encourage these habits. For example, some parents find it helpful to make brushing teeth before bed fun. Playing one of your child’s favorite songs for two minutes while they brush could even establish a positive association and teach them how long to take brushing their teeth.
You should also maintain regular dental cleanings and exams for your whole family. We’ll use specials tools to clean the areas of your smile that are difficult to reach with brushing and flossing alone. We will also check for signs of potential issues, catching them while they are still small and easily manageable.
If we do find a problem, we will explain it to you in an accessible way and help you decide on the best treatment. If you have any questions at all, just ask. We are happy to help you understand how issues occur and how we can resolve them.
We also provide a few preventive treatments that you and your family members can take advantage of that will help you all avoid cavities and other problems. For instance, many parents choose to get their kids a dental sealant, which helps shield little teeth from tooth decay.
No matter the age of the patient we are seeing, we will do our part to make the experience as pleasant as possible.
For kiddos, we can provide a fun tour of our office and show them some of the cool gadgets we have invested in. We also have stuffed toys for them to play with.
To make you more comfortable, we also provide amenities like headphones and TVs with DISH in every care room.
